Cartap hydrochloride is a broad-spectrum insecticide used in agriculture to control various insect pests, particularly in rice crops, by disrupting their nervous system. It acts as a stomach and contact poison, causing paralysis by blocking the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which leads to the death of chewing and sucking insects like stem borers, leaf folders, and aphids. It is available in formulations such as soluble powder (SP) and granules (GR)

How it works

Mode of action: It functions similarly to a natural neurotoxin derived from marine annelids, which paralyzes the central nervous system of insects.
Target pests: It is effective against a wide range of chewing and sucking pests, including stem borers, leaf folders, aphids, and whiteflies.
Application: It can be applied as a contact, systemic, and stomach poison
